All our podiatrists are registered with the Health Care Professions Council and members of their professional body, The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

Julie Day

Julie Day qualified in podiatric medicine from the London Foot Hospital in 1985 and established the Chelsea Podiatry Practice in 1987, later setting up the Welwyn Podiatry Practice in 2005. 

After qualifying Julie undertook a post graduation research post in toe nail surgery procedures. She taught at the London Foot Hospital, until December 2004 and is the Podiatrist for the Royal Marsden Hospital (cancer care) and worked in University College London Hospital for over 26 years, specialising in the rheumatoid and the diabetic foot. She is also a qualified Podiatric Acupuncturist. Julie has had two peer reviewed papers published one on toe nail surgery in H.I.V care and the other in clinical pathway management.

Julie Bratchell

Julie Bratchell graduated BSc (Hons) in podiatric medicine in 2007 at University London (U.E.L). Since then she has attained her Masters in Diabetes from Warwick University. She has worked in high risk foot clinics at the University College London Hospital (U.C.L.H) and more recently in Cambridge University Hospitals (Addenbrookes). She specialises in treating high risk foot problems associated with diabetes and vascular issues. Whilst at UCLH Julie undertook the biomechanics clinics leading to her interest in sport injuries and orthotics manufacture.

Amy Walker

Amy Walker graduated with a 2:1 in podiatric medicine, with clinical excellence. Her first post was in the community at Whittington Health NHS trust. She remained there for 5 years during which she and a colleague set up the community ulcer clinic. This was where she developed her interest in diabetic foot care.

Amy currently works 4 days a week for the Royal Free NHS foundation trust as a Specialist Podiatrist. Her week is mostly filled with in- and out-patient diabetic foot complications, with one day a week in orthopaedics.

On Wednesdays she works at the Welwyn Podiatry practice. Whilst she has a keen interest in diabetes, she also enjoys undertaking the breadth of podiatric treatments, ingrown toe nails, verruca infections, and biomechanical problems.
